I -THINK- you guys have run across a problem inherent with phpbb.. NOT with phpbb-auction. If your browser is not set to auto-refresh pages on every visit, you will not see the changes that were made. I reported it to phpbb some time ago, but they didn't really seem to care.

There is a remote possibility that if you are going through a proxy, it isn't set to check for changes on every visit.

First, go to the page where the changes aren't showing up. Simply click the Refresh button. If that shows the changes, then you need to hunt down the page refresh setting in your browsers options and change it to refresh on every visit.

If that doesn't show the changes, hold down Ctrl + Alt and click the refresh button. If that shows the changes, the problem is the proxy server you are going through. If you have set up your own proxy, you will need to set it to check for changes every time. If you do not have your own proxy server, call up your ISP and tell them what is going on. You may not even know that they are using a proxy server, but if this happens, they are.

If neither of these fixes it, the next step is to close all of your browser windows (if you are using Internet Explorer, also close any windows explorer and 'Open' windows that you may have open). Go into your browser settings and empty the cache, if you had to re-open your browser to do this, close it once again. Now re-open your browser and navigate back to the page where you made changes. If you see the changes now, your cache was just being screwy. check that it's not too big, also check the date on your computer. Other than these, I wouldn't be too concerned about it. This is a common symptom of an over stuffed cache. Wink

If you STILL do not see the changes, then there is definitely a problem. If you still have a problem at this point, please report back here with a bit more details, and we'll see what we can do. Smile

If this fixes your problem and it annoys you, feel free to go to

http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=1

and complain about it. Very Happy

I realise that this forum is for phpbbauction so apologies for posting here.

Hi guys, I think I got a similar problem. Only that the actual permissions do not actually get updated.

I can see no way to set access to a private forum except by setting the user as an admin.

Obviously this is not ideal.

I've been through many help forums.......maybe I'm doing something completely dumb.

Any other ideas,

Many thanks, Chris
