Ok, made some major changes to my phpbb template layout... haven't had any traffic to my auction yet though... any suggestions for promoting it?

First of all you need to have a link to the auction in your main menu in order for people to be able to view it.

Secondly, by forcing people to sign up to view your forum/auction you will end up with a lot of inactive members and that is not good.

Thirdly, if you want members from here to view and give you feedback then setup an account such as username test P/W test so they can go and view your work without having to sign up.

Remember, the majority of people on here have their own forum and like me they are probably a member of some 20 odd forums relating mainly to phpBB and I know I dont want to sign up to any forum just to pass criticism to the forum owner.

Hi,
Sorry... just changed my main menu last night, and was playing around with switches for logged in and logged out... I forgot to make the auction section available to guests... will do that later. Wasn't trying to make everyone register for my forum, promise. Smile

Your auction is coming along nicely. I went ahead and voted that it looks good now, but I will say on the side that it's good considering the stage this mod is at. Yes, it's released, but there's allot of new features that will be coming out that I hope you'll add when they become available, and not just leave it as-is for now for the rest of your site's life. Assuming you keep up with that, it's great!

Yes, I look forward to adding any improvements to the existing script, as they are available. Smile

I consider it more of a side on my site though... don't think it will become a major trafficker for my genre of site, but it is a nice feature for my members to be able to use. Smile
